'Can't be arsed' evenings

"You run the risk of a few tears when you allow yourself to be tamed..."
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

You know those get home from work feeling super tired and super lazy and all you really want to do is curl up in bed or in front of the television and have dinner materialise in front of you. I'm sorry, but that ain't gonna happen so you'll have to go into the kitchen and whip something up pronto.

This is one of those meals:

Fry's Vegetarian Chicken-Style Nuggets (I love our convection oven - cooks things like this in no time at all) with cheap and nasty sweet and sour sauce (okay, so it's not nasty but it's, well, bright, toxic orange so it's kind of freaky), steamed veges drizzled with tahini and salad.

  1. That looks like a great meal! My can't be arsed dinners are more like... toast. Or cereal.

  2. Agree with Theresa, CBA'd dinner go to for me is a smoothie or nut butter on toast.

Your salad looks quirky and fancy with the capo cut up like that!

  3. Mmmm... looks pretty tasty for something that was meant to just be thrown together.

I don't think Fry's sell their chicken nuggets over here in Australia. Which is sad.

  4. Well yes, as demonstrated in my previous post some nights are still toast (or cereal)! Steaming, baking and a tiny bit of chopping are pretty quick. No real cooking required...and no utensils other than a knife!

  5. Love the title of the post lol :0)
It looks like a pretty good meal to me!

  6. I found those Fry's nuggets yesterday too! Lazy dinner is usually fry's burgers, chips and gravy.... Mmmmmm gravy....
